Pompeian Extra Virgin Olive Oil Review and $1.00 off Printable Coupon!

One of the very first times I used Pompeian Extra Virgin Olive Oil I was making fried rice.  While asking my facebook friends what exactly I was to do many of them raved about the Pompeian Extra Virgin Olive Oil.  It is not comparable to the everyday vegetable oil I am used to using.  It did not take much at all a couple teaspoons or so and the rice was good to go.  I threw in some veggies and called it a meal.

The next item I am going to try is the Apple Crisp recipe i found directly on Pompeian's website.  They have tons of recipes for you to try out.  from main dishes, deserts, side dishes  appetizers  you name it they have a recipe for it!

INGREDIENTS
8 cupspeeled, cored, and thinly sliced apples
1/2 cupgranulated sugar
2 tsp.cinnamon
1-1/4 cupsold-fashioned rolled oats (not quick-cooking)
3/4 cupsall-purpose flour
3/4 cupsbrown sugar
1/2 cupPompeian Extra Light Tasting Olive Oil
1-1/2 tsp.vanilla extract
3/4 cupchopped walnuts (optional)
Preparation
Preheat oven to 350o F.

To prepare the filling: Place apple slices in a large bowl, sprinkle with granulated sugar and cinnamon and toss to evenly coat the apples. Set aside.

To prepare the topping: In a medium bowl, combine the oats, flour, and brown sugar. After these ingredients have been mixed together, make a well in the center and add the olive oil and vanilla extract. Rub the mixture together with fingers until it starts to come together and form a crumb-like texture. Add walnuts to the topping mixture, if desired.

Transfer apple slices to a 9 x 13-inch baking dish. Sprinkle topping evenly over the apples.

Bake at 350o F for 40-45 minutes or until the apples are tender when pierced with a paring knife.

Cool pan 10-15 minutes on a wire rack. Serve warm, with ice cream or whipped cream, if desired.
