Using the Stockpile, Day 6: No Shopping; Crockpot Chicken

Last night, I made another loaf of honey oat bread with flax and beer (recipe). We had this for breakfast and snacks today.

For dinner, I took a full chicken from the freezer (thawed in fridge for 2 days) and put it in the crockpot with potatoes, carrots, celery and smothered it in Penzey's BBQ spice and then poured a can of beer around it and let it cook on low.  I will be using the chicken, which falls right off the bone in the crock pot, for recipes later on this week.  Here's a previous post on slow cooking chicken.

I also made "avocado pudding"... really, it may look gross, but it is SO rich and full of flavor.  I used 1 tbs of cocoa, 1 tbs of honey, 1 tbs of Justin's Almond Nut Butter (I got this at Vitacost) and mashed 1/2 an avocado into it and then sprinkled some salt.  Mix it real good and eat.  I probably have two more tablespoons of cocoa left before it's gone, so I hope to have that gone by the end of the month!  Here's a recipe I kinda followed online.

Total spent on food outside of stockpile:
Today:  $0
This Month:  $22.33
Goal:  Spend under $100 for January, but under $50 would be awesome!
