Using the Stockpile, Day 31: DONE! Updated Photos :)





Today, I started off with a bowl of leftover oatmeal with peanut butter (almost done with another jar!!), coffee and creamer.  For lunch, I ate the rest of the bagged salad with some chopped veggies and a package of Starkist tuna.  For dinner, we ate the leftover pasta dish.

I did want to try using some cooked steel cut oats in bread, and it was a successful recipe with a nice crust:


 We don't have Fluff in the Midwest, so this is my PufferNutter.  Hahah...


2 cups flour
1 cup cooked steel cut oats (mine were cooled overnight)
2 tsp yeast
1 tsp salt
3 tbs flax seeds
2 tbs flax seed oil (or olive oil, or butter)
3 tbs honey



You can click on the pics to enlarge them if you like.  I am definitely going to clear out some more items before buying more - like peanut butter, noodles and canned goods, plus any pasta sauce and meat in the freezer.  However, I am going to buy more chicken, hamburger, yogurt, fresh vegetables (especially salad items, I need to use up some more salad dressing), oats for bread baking, cereal that my husband will eat (lol), etc.  We've got a lot of steak and Gaspar's sausage because they were bulk items.  I also want ice cream.
