Using the Stockpile, Day 27: Garbage Cookies, Pork Loin, Sweet Potato Fries

My typical go-to breakfast for this stockpile kill has been a package of Better Oats oatmeal with 1 tbs of peanut butter and 1 tbs of Chia seeds.  I've now demolished 3 boxes of oatmeal (perhaps 4, but some were out of the box already), and I think I have about 1 tbs of Chia seeds left.  I also like using almond butter for my oatmeal.

In my cupboard, there was a plastic container that had chocolate chips, butterscotch chips, graham crackers and brown sugar.  I decided that since it was a cruddy day out, it was a great day to make some garbage cookies!  In my other cupboard, I had a bulk bag of Ghirardelli chocolate chips (with a total of 22 chips left), a bulk bag of Craisins and a bulk bag of raisins, as well as walnuts.  I also realized one of my tubs of cocoa had just about 1 tbs left in it.  Yup, time to get rid of these things.  I used the recipe on the back of the Ghirardelli chocolate chips for the cookies and made 60 cookies out of the batch.  They are wicked tasty!  I am going to freeze most of them to save for vanilla ice cream that I am going to buy next week.

All of these things are GONE now!

Bulky, delicious, garbage cookies.

Since there were only 22 chips of Ghirardelli left, I decided to put those to use covering some really ripe bananas.  I microwaved them with 4 tbs of Nestle semi sweet chips plus 2 tbs of milk and then chopped the bananas and poured the chocolate over, and let them sit on the enclosed back porch to cool off.  Next time, I'll dip and freeze, but the bananas were super squishy, so I didn't do that today.

I took two small pork loin roast pieces out of the freezer and stuck them in the crock pot with about 1 cup of red wine and 1 cup of water, a chopped onion and some garlic and put that on low at around 10:00.  I also had some frozen white bread dough (I've made 2 so far this month) and so I threw one of those in the cold oven to rise so I could bake it later this evening before dinner.  We made 2 more boxes of sugar free gelatin for dessert too!  I also took the remaining sweet potatoes I had here and cut them to make sweet potato fries!

I spent a good chunk of the day cooking and preparing items, plus cleaning the house and getting a workout in.  It's 4 pm now, so I think I deserve some lazy couch time now!
