Breakfast and lunch really aren't that exciting around here, as they usually consist of leftovers. This morning, my husband had his typical cereal and I had coffee, 2 eggs and some bacon from my freezer that I got on sale at Hy-Vee. Lunch was just some yogurt for me with granola and he had summer sausage, peanut butter and banana. I am going to have to make a run for bananas soon! Oh, and maybe milk!
I wanted to try making some bread in my $5 bread maker, using leftover All Bran Flakes that nobody has eaten in a while. I had gotten a bunch of All Bran on sale a while back, but my husband prefers other cereals. The bread didn't cook completely in the bread maker, so I switched it to the pan and baked it (and baked a squash since the oven was hot). Anyways, it was more of a bread pudding type situation than bread, so I am going to perfect the recipe before posting! I hope I can find some Cool Whip in the freezer to eat with it. :)
Boo to you, test bread!
It's "bread-er" eh?
For dinner, I put one full chicken breast (frozen) and 1 cup of uncooked basmati rice in the crock pot with 2 cups of water and 1 chopped green pepper. After the chicken was mostly cooked, I added a jar of Patak's Korma Curry simmer sauce and about a cup of frozen peas and let it simmer for another hour. Delicious and easy to make while I'm working!
