Using the Stockpile, Day 14: Hummus & Cleaning

Today, I decided to wake up and start reorganizing the cupboard a bit.  I took stuff off of the top shelf (cereal area) and put it on the second shelf (pasta area), and I took all of the boxes of tea out of the plastic container they were in on the bottom shelf and stacked them.  After all of that, I went and reorganized my "random" area of the kitchen and made a place for my crock pot and mixer so that they wouldn't have to be stuck in one of the underneath cabinets.  My kitchen is pretty small, so reorganizing is a constant process when I end up with new machinery.

Today was a day for laundry, cleaning and a little catching up on some television shows (I missed Nashville last week).  Of course, it's Monday, so I have to work too.

I did make some hummus!  I took 1 can of chick peas, rinsed and 1/4 cup of Joyva Tahini (I got this at Vitacost), and some salt, pepper, hot sauce, garlic and lemon juice and threw it all in the food processor.  It's great with veggies, as a dip or on sandwiches.

My bread maker decided it wanted to work today too, so I made a loaf of honey oat beer bread with flax, and put it on the dark setting.

Leftovers and tuna sandwiches today.  Tomorrow I cook again.

Goal:  Spend under $100 for January, but under $50 would be awesome!  I think I'm going to be past the $50 limit, but we'll see if I can do this anyways.  Maybe $75. :)
Stockpile items demolished:  2 boxes of Kraft Mac & Cheese, 1 jar of Patak's Sauce, 1 bag of granola, 1 bag of protein powder, 1 rogue squash, 1 package of chicken breast, 1 package of Hormel deli pepperoni, 1 tube of crescent rolls, 2 packages of bacon, 3 bags of shredded cheese, 2 packages of Knorr rice sides, 1 big jar of Jif peanut butter, 1 jar of honey, 1 bag of flour, 1 box of crackers, 2 boxes of granola/snack bar, 2 freezer steaks, 1 bag of Gevalia coffee, 4 gallons of milk, 1 jar of Jif hazelnut spread, 4 boxes of cereal, 1 whole freezer chicken, 4 misc. beers, 1 box oatmeal, 1 jar almond butter, 2 cans of green beans, 1 bag frozen peas, 1 bag frozen broccoli, 1 can chick peas, 1 jar of canned fruit, 1 remaining package of spanakopita, 1 remaining package of mozzarella sticks, 1 remaining package of jalapeno poppers, 1 remainder of a bag of french fries, 1 dozen eggs, 1 package frozen broccoli, 1 frozen Farmland pork sausage, 2 freezer bags of homemade pasta sauce, 1 pouch of Starkist tuna
