DYI = Do It Yourself TWINKIE CAKE WITH FILLING Recipe

TWINKIE CAKE WITH FILLING from MB.

This recipe comes from Jan, a sweetheart of a lady that I used to work with. Miss you, Jan.

You can use any yellow sponge cake recipe you like or a yellow sponge cake mix. Bake cake in a jelly roll pan and cut in half to fill or divide batter in half and bake in two 9 X 13” cake pans. Allow to cool before

 filling.

FILLING RECIPE

5 Tablespoons flour
1 cup milk
Heat over low heat until thick. Cool.

Beat until fluffy:

1 cup sugar
½ teaspoon salt
½ cup Crisco
½ cup butter
1 teaspoon vanilla

Add milk mixture. BEAT 5 MINUTES.
Place filling between layers of cake and cut into desired sizes. Should be stored in the refrigerator
